The Tightrope Stabilization Technique is a modification of the traditional lateral suture. However, this method has the biomechanical advantage of providing a bone-to-bone fixation and a stronger multifilament suture material. This technique was designed for large breed dogs and may provide an alternative to the more invasive osteotomy procedures (TPLO and TTA). In addition, this procedure is significantly less expensive than the osteotomy procedures which would potentially be of benefit to many owners.
