George A. Kramer, DVM, Diplomate ACVIM (Cardiology)

A native of Long Island, Dr. George Kramer dreamed of becoming a veterinarian since he was a young boy. His undergraduate studies took place at the University of Vermont and the University of Maryland, where he graduated with honors. After completing his undergraduate studies, he moved to Boston and entered a Master's Program in Molecular Biology at Northeastern University. Following his studies in molecular biology, he entered veterinary school at Tufts University School of Veterinary Medicine and earned his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 1986. D. Kramer subsequently completed a medicine and surgery internship, followed by a residency in internal medicine and cardiology at the prestigious Animal Medical Center in New York City.
Dr. Kramer is board certified as a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine in Cardiology and founder and chief of staff of Ultravet Diagnostics Veterinary Imaging and Referral Center in Mineola, NY, and Atlantic Coast Veterinary Specialists in Bohemia, NY. He has professional interests in cardiology, internal medicine, oncology, ultrasonography and echocardiography. In addition to his busy practices, Dr. Kramer serves as ultrasonographer for the Bronx Zoo and Coney Island Aquarium and was recently appointed a Fellow of the Wildlife Conservation Society. New York Magazine has listed Dr. Kramer as the best veterinary cardiologist in the NY city area.
Dr. Kramer has lectured locally, nationally and internationally. He has given lectures at the Annual Forums of the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine, International Symposia of the Veterinary Emergency & Critical Care Society, Veterinary Professional Quest Conferences, Atlantic Coast Veterinary Conferences, Western States Veterinary Conference, University of Paris Veterinary College, Westchester-Rockland Veterinary Medical Association, New York City Veterinary Medical Association and Long Island Veterinary Medical Association. His publications, "Plasma Taurine Concentrations in Normal Dogs and in Dogs with Heart Disease" and "New Technique for Myocardial Biopsies in the Dog," have appeared in the Journal of Veterinary Internal Medicine.
Besides his several pets, including a Weimaraner dog, five cats, two horses and a cockatoo, Dr. Kramer is passionate about music, skiing and fishing.
Lauren E. Sikorski, DVM, Diplomate ACVIM (Internal Medicine)

Lauren Sikorski, DVM, Diplomate ACVIM (Internal Medicine) joined the internal medicine team at Atlantic Coast Veterinary Specialists in July 2009. She completed a three-year Residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine following completion of her one-year Small Animal Medicine and Surgery Internship here on Long Island. She graduated salutatorian of her class at St. George's University School of Veterinary Medicine in 2005. She is also a graduate of Rollins College where she received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English Literature, with a concentration in Australian and French Studies.
She received board certification from the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine with a specialty in Small Animal Internal Medicine in June 2010. Among Dr. Sikorski's many professional interests are endoscopy and bronchoscopy, diagnostic ultrasound, infectious disease, hematology, hepatology, nephrology, and interventional radiology. Publications include "Babesiosis caused by a large Babesia species in 7 Dogs (2005-2008)."
Jason M. Berg, DVM, Diplomate ACVIM (Neurology and Internal Medicine)

Jason Berg, DVM, Diplomate, American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (Neurology and Internal Medicine) provides medical and surgical neurology services, including surgery for brain and spinal tumors, at Atlantic Coast Veterinary Specialists.
Dr. Berg received his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Texas A&M University in 1996. In 2000, he completed his internship and residency training in neurology and internal medicine at the Animal Medical Center and received board certification in neurology in 2000 and internal medicine in 2002. He also completed a training program in veterinary acupuncture with the International Veterinary Acupuncture Society in 2001.
In 2000, Dr. Berg, along with Dr. Richard Joseph, developed a referral hospital within County Animal Clinic in Yonkers, New York. Concurrently, they established Animal MR, a mobile MRI service for specialty hospitals which has expanded into four states and provides MRI services at veterinary referral hospitals.
His primary area of interest is advancing medical and surgical treatment options for neurological patients. He has published articles pertaining to veterinary neurology in various journals and has presented at conferences around the country and chaired three committees for ACVIM.
Jeffrey A. Seaman, DVM, MS, Diplomate ACVS

Dr. Jeffrey A. Seaman is available for consultations and surgery at Atlantic Coast Veterinary Specialists. His areas of special interest include orthopedic surgery, soft tissue surgery, and neurosurgery.
Dr. Seaman received his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the College of Veterinary Medicine at Cornell University in Ithaca, NY in 1999. The following year, he completed a rotating internship in medicine and surgery at Oradell Animal Hospital in New Jersey.
After completing the internship, he was hired as an associate veterinarian at Oradell, where he practiced general medicine as well as emergency and general surgery for four years. In 2008 he completed a residency in small animal surgery at the University of Minnesota Twin Cities Campus in St. Paul.That same year he received the Mark S. Bloomberg Resident Research Award. Dr. Seaman received board certification in the American College of Veterinary Surgeons in 2010.
Before joining Atlantic Coast Veterinary Specialists, Dr. Seaman practiced surgery at New York City Veterinary Specialists in Manhattan. Prior to that position, he was an assistant research scientist at the University of Minnesota.
Dr. Seaman has conducted original research on bone grafts and tibial fractures and has authored several articles that have been published in the professional veterinary medical literature. He is currently a member of the American College of Veterinary Surgeons, the American Veterinary Medical Association, New York State Veterinary Medical Society and Veterinary Medical Association of New York City.
